London Trainee Programmes Coach

The Running Charity are recruiting a London Trainee Programmes Coach. This is a one-year fixed term position.

At The Running Charity we are very keen to appoint a former beneficiary of The Running Charity’s work who has a huge passion for running, coaching and supporting other young people who have been affected by homelessness.

Pre-Requisites 

  • To be a graduate of The Running Charity’s programme for over 6 months
  • To have a coaching/fitness/running qualification or be willing to work towards one
  • Demonstrate a track record of leadership within TRC sessions or practical delivery experience
  • This is a full-time position that requires the willingness to work regular evenings and weekends

The successful individual will be supported and mentored to be able to fulfil the following job responsibilities. Full on-the-job training will be provided and it is expected the Trainee will progress to be full programmes coach after the years fixed term contract (subject to funding).

Delivery

  • Support, and where appropriate, lead the delivery of TRCs running and fitness sessions in London

Youth Work

  • Act as a point of contact and support to young people who engage with TRC’s work
  • Set and monitor goals with young people
  • Support the delivery team to provide unique and inspiring opportunities to young people

Referral and Partnerships

  • Support the delivery team in securing new charity partnerships
  • Screen and process referrals for mentor programme
  • Maintain and promote positive charity partnerships

Mentor Programme

  • Support the pairing of mentor/mentee relationships
  • Support and troubleshoot any issues emerging from the mentoring programme
  • Maintain and promote a positive relationship with mentors and mentees

Other Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development The Running Charity and its delivery team
  • Support volunteer training
  • Contribute to team and organisation-wide meetings 
  • Contribute to the production of communications
  • Report any safeguarding issues/allegations in line with The Running Charity’s Safeguarding Policy
  • Ensure that all data and young people’s progressions are entered into The Running Charity’s database
  • Support TRCs core team with any additional administration tasks
