Work experience with Mercedes Benz: Romario

22.07.18

My time at Mercedes was enjoyable and I learned a lot. From greeting customers and people fascinated by the brand, to learning about the New A Class, and other Classes from the staff and managers really helped when being approached by customers. I got asked questions such as; Are the rims diamond cut? What does the car run on? And roughly how long does it takes for a car to be delivered if it’s not at their local dealership on the day of purchase because of extra custom jobs on the car, like having leather interior or custom rims.

Learning about the different roles at Mercedes such as marketing, mechanics, people making the cars and those working with the Formula 1 racers and the dealership was interesting because it shows how important teamwork and communication is.

The staff were welcoming, caring, and helpful and that made me feel comfortable within myself because they were always there if I ever needed any help with letting a customer know the price range, finance, and booking a test drive at their local dealership or anything that I wasn’t too sure of.

Merchandise

The hats for me are something that I’m very Keen on because whenever I put on a hat I feel focus and it’s also fashion. A hat will bring a different touch to your outfit and having the Mercedes logo at the front really stands out. A few customers wanted to get their hands on a particular colour but unfortunately it was out of stock and I felt really disappointed there wasn’t any in stock because Mercedes is all about satisfying customer’s needs, but they were advised to go to the website which I think is amazing because the internet is easily accessible and they had more options online anyway, so win-win.

Being presentable and organised was something I paid attention to as a customer doesn’t want to shop or browse in a store that’s untidy.

I learned a few things about myself and about where my strengths are. It was a great experience and I would recommend it to anybody.

Thank you to Mercedes Benz and Laureus Sport for Good for supporting our young people with interesting opportunities.
