We are delighted to announce that we are working alongside the Mali Development group to bring you access to the Virgin Money London Marathon 2019. Held on the 28th April 2019, this world famous Marathon will take place across the streets and many boroughs of London. What you will get if you run with The Running Charity:

  • Access to a specialised respiratory session by a respiratory physiotherapist – Work through inefficient breathing patterns than can both effect performance and make running less enjoyable
  • A personalised The Running Charity top or vest – an ASICS tech top printed with your name or chosen nickname
  • One-to-one fundraising support – Feel supported from day one through to the race day in April. We are a small team who really care about our wondeful fundraisers
  • The amazing feeling knowing you are helping vulnerable and homeless young people across the UK and in Mali, West Africa.

If you are successfully chosen for our London Marathon place, you will be running in support of two charities: The Running Charity and the Mali Development Group. We have joined forces this year to be able to bring you the opportunity to run in this prestigious annual race.

Hopefully you already know about the fantastic work that The Running Charity do, empowering homeless and vulnerable young people to take control of their own health and wellbeing, supporting their individual journeys to finding their feet. What you may not know too much about is the small volunteer-led charity, the Mali Development Group, who support communities in Mali, West Africa. They support projects that provide food and shelter to street children, and those particularly helping communities to make decisions for themselves, having concentrated quite a bit on empowering and developing the skills on women.

To find out more about the Mali development group visit, their website here.

Do you already have a London Marathon place of your own? If you would like to support The Running Charity we will offer you the same level of care and attention as our charity places get and you will also receive a personalised running top, access to training help, and unlimited one-to-one fundraising support.
